Don’t find fault, find a remedy.
-Henry Ford
College presents a lot of situations where things don’t work out the way you would like them too. Sometimes, you even fail. Such is life. It is easy to lay blame in these situations on someone or something that is not you: the professor is bad, my friends didn’t tell me the right reading, my coach didn’t play me enough so I couldn’t be good, my parents won’t support it, my tutor didn’t know what s/he was talking about, my roommate wouldn’t listen to me…and on and on.
Rather than blaming everyone for things that go wrong, find a way to improve things.
Ask: “what can I do to help make this situation better (for myself or for others)?”
You would be surprised at the leaps and bounds you will make when you change the focal point of your concentration.
